PATIENT INFORMATION REGARDING POST-EXTRACTION AND SURGICAL TOOTH REMOVAL PROCEDURES.

POST-SURGICAL CARE:

  • Maintain pressure dressing for approximately 30-40 minutes.
  • Apply only cold compresses externally.
  • Avoid heavy physical work.
  • Do not eat or drink for at least 1.5 hours.
  • Throughout the day, it is recommended to consume cooler beverages and food.
  • Avoid alcohol and tobacco use for at least 24 hours, as they may cause bleeding and hinder healing.
  • Do not use mouth rinses like sage or chamomile after the procedure, as they can dislodge the blood clot and lead to dry socket.
  • After 24 hours, rinse the mouth with a diluted solution of Eludril or a solution of baking soda (1 tablespoon per glass of water), preferably after each meal.
  • For surgical tooth extractions that required stitches, please schedule a visit to remove the stitches within 7-10 days after the procedure.
  • If you receive a prescription after the procedure, kindly fill it promptly and take the medications as prescribed by the doctor.

SYMPTOMS THAT MAY OCCUR AFTER THE PROCEDURE INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Swelling in the operated area (even after three days from the procedure)
  • Jaw clenching (mainly in the case of surgical removal of wisdom teeth)
  • Bruising, hematoma

ADVERSE SYMPTOMS:

  • Significantly elevated body temperature (fever)
  • Swelling persisting for more than 7 days
  • Gastrointestinal reactions, which may result from an allergic reaction to medications causing prolonged bleeding

If any of the above adverse symptoms occur, please contact me immediately. In the case of drug intolerance, please discontinue the medications and seek an appointment for alternative pharmaceuticals and to determine a new medication administration method.

You can also schedule a follow-up appointment over the phone.

Platelet-Rich Fibrin Therapy:

PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) is platelet-rich fibrin obtained from the patient's blood. It is used in dental surgery to stimulate growth, tissue regeneration, and accelerate healing. In our clinic, we use PRF for complex tooth extractions, regenerative procedures, and implants.

Because the material is obtained from the patient's blood, it is the most biocompatible and safe regenerative material.
